Gail Schoeder Dunn – After graduation, I attended the College of San Mateo and received my AA degree in Business; however I kind of changed courses and became a flight attendant for Seaboard World Airlines flying mostly out of Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA. These were MAC (military airlift command contracts) flights which took us to the Far East, especially to Vietnam, and parts of Europe.  I flew with them for 4 plus years until the Vietnam conflict ended.  By then I had been married for a year and went to work part time doing secretarial work at the Bank of America in Stockton, CA.  During that period of time I had my son.  We also lived on a ranch where we had horses.  I participated in a lot of gymkhanas.  These are events where one races their horse around certain obstacles for the best times.  The most popular event which occurs at rodeos is the barrel racing event.  I won lots of ribbons etc. doing these events and my love of horses was finally realized by owning these beautiful creatures.  To this day, I still own horses, mostly Missouri Fox Trotters.

In the course of moving to various cities, I somehow ended up in this Desert town called Inyokern, CA. approximately 100 miles Northeast of Bakersfield, CA.  It is kind of out in the middle of nowhere.  A divorce followed and I then started working for the Department of the Defense/Navy at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, CA.  Various jobs there included working at the print shop, hauling and delivering explosives e.g. bombs, missiles, etc. on the semi-tractor trailers around the base, and eventually doing ordnance buildups.  Nothing my parents would have ever expected me to be doing.  So much for the shy little girl they raised.  Actually, I still can be shy.

Eventually I met my current husband, Joe, who is from Missouri and responsible for my involvement with the Missouri Fox Trotting horses. I became interested in computer graphics and have done extensive work in that field.  After 20 years with the Department of the Navy, I retired five years ago.  Since my retirement, I have been involved in jewelry making, painting murals, riding my horses and enjoying my two grandsons and traveling with my husband.
